So I have several downloads and uploads running just fine. I have
several dozen people waiting in my queue and I am waiting in a bunch
of queues as well. My connection does not drop in any way I can see,
the downloads all continue just fine - but periodically I will start
losing all my queued requests and everyone in my upload queue will
lose me. For several minutes I'll be unable to join any queues or
browse/search effectively. Then it all returns to normal and I'll
start picking up queue entries for upload and download.

To emphasize - I do not lose active downloads or uploads when this
happens. It appears to be completely independent of occassionally
getting disconnected from the network.

It's a very frustrating problem as I lose all those low queue
positions and have to start all over again.

Any ideas about what might be going wrong?
