**At the price of some of these players, I use different players for
different things. I use my main Philips/Magnavox DVD player from 1999
to play regular DVDs. It avoids putting wear and tear on the cheapos.
I use a Magnavox 458 to play PAL discs, DVD-R or the occasional
regular DVD that the P/M won't load. I have the Philips 642 in a box
in the closet :) I came across a great deal for it and I couldn't pass
it up ($52 at Meijer).
