When you view the thread as a tree, you can see which posts respond to
which. Also, the phrasing of the question is also a big clue: to whit
"what other P2P can I use", which led to a post beginning "Other P2P
networks?" I made the assumption that you didn't need to have a
question you asked repeated verbatim for you, and apparently that was a
big assumption, and incredibly wrong-headed one. I sincerely regret
violating our NG's rules requiring painfully superfluous posting.

Apparently, run-on sentences aren't unacceptable.
As to whether there is an alternative to WinMX, there probably is as
long as you're not looking for something long-term. While WinMX never
looked immune from RIAA, its non-adware, non-profit and sometimes
non-existent support staff made it less likely to be held liable along
the lines of Grokster. It didn't drop spyware into your computer. All
WinMX was good for was helping move files. When you add spyware, amd
assuming equal file availability and user strength, it's pretty much no
different from any other P2P system in the RIAA's crosshairs. So if
anybody's making an assumption that this is simply a WinMX problem to
be cured to moving to another P2P system - you're the one making it.
