Yes, I agree.
And I'm replying to your post just to confirm that by slightly adapting
the so-called hosts file, connecting to the WinMX Peer Network is once
again possible, hoping to convince WinMX users who read this to go and
reconnect again.
Once having added the following (thanks goes out to Mr. Drac) to the
hosts file, after restarting WinMX one only needs to be patient for a
short while (it took me 12 minutes to get a secondary connection) and
voila, there's your green light again!
* * add the lines hereafter to the hosts file, then restart WinMX * *
127.0.0.1 localhost

That is interesting. All that means is that Winmx upon looking to get
connected was looking to winmx.com for the servers. Vey nice fix there.
Did we know that was the case? And you know what is interesting is that
usually hosts only works over port 80. For example you cannot use it to
redirect a FTP request.
