The port numbers I've seen here are 6699 and 6257. Could using other
numbers cause problems?

I'm using 6699 and 6258. 6257 did not work as one of the useful users
here told us. I had trouble getting my firewall to work (Kerio)
because I didn't know how to use it at first! Now everything is
running GREAT! If you understand Sygate's, you should be up and
running in a few minutes.
