Spies:: spybot adaware, remove them after the fact
a good hosts file stops them loading in the first place

and blocks the very large number of images from adservers that take up
bandwidth take out 400k of ad images from a 500k page and it loads five
times faster
blocks installed spyware from finding home to call until spybot/adaware can
get to remove them

maps bad sources to known good ones as in the winmx peer cache

"havent needed it", nah course not, dont need insurance
