Thanks to all who helped/offered advice, etc

For ME the problem is solved (network card / router / Sygate firewall):

In SETTINGS I have BOTH Incoming TCP Connections, AND In/Out UDP Packets set
to "Unable to ....."

I now simply don't get the "waiting ...." message and can now happily
download and upload in WPN and OpenNap simultaneously and so once again,
share my files.
