Hello Mr. Hester,
=Vey nice fix there.=
Well, I suggest you direct your gratitude to Mr. Drac, for he provided
the fix.
=Did we know that was the case?=
Most of us probably not, I guess.
=And you know what is interesting is that (...) you cannot use it to
redirect a FTP request.=
I didn't know that yet.
BTW, to get WinMX to work again, it is advised by WinMXWorld.com to use
a newly created fix for the peer caches, now available from the
start-up website WinMX Group (http://www.winmxgroup.com).
These websites suggest the following.
* * *
Just put the patch in your WinMX directory and WinMX will function
properly.
If you are currently using one of the modified Hosts files to connect,
then it is strongly advised that you switch to using this fix as the
host files restrict you to specific peer caches, while this fix also
contains additional features - such as blocking the RIAA - that should
help the network out a lot.
Note: If you have BendMX or RCMS then DO NOT replace BendMX/RCMS with
this fix or it will replace BenxMD/RCMS! Instead replace the file named
WS2_32o.dll.
Regularly check http://www.winmxworld.com/ for updates!

Have a nice evening,
