I was puzzled as well as to putting it in the "Directory", or do they mean

program folder?
Anyway, I found that this particular .dll was already installed on my
computer
in the WINDOWS\System32 folder & WINDOWS\ServicePackFiles\i386
folder, and Windows would not let me alter them as they were being used.
Also the original dll is 68.2K and the new one is only 36K
(O.S. Windows 2000) The hosts file fix works OK
