ok finding newer files isnt eazy most the time not even for ppl like me
that understand alot bout winmx and computer but it isnt your internet
connnection or speed or settings its 9 times outa 10 RIAA witch is a
recording company they are putting out fake files and wen we go to
download them they just time out(dont start) or they are the wrong file
or something else there is a few ways to get around this i will suggest
eazyest to hardest and the hardest would also take a bit of time ok
goto the search tab (at the top of winmx with like network libara
search tranfers ect ect)
in the search files (where you would type the file of the song you wish
to download)
type the osng you are looking for now there is a 2nd search file box
just uder the first one in this one i reconmend(as i use it) typing
"-c:\my" and "-c:\documents"
wat this will do is wen it searches for files it wont display anyone
wid thos names in the files or if its in the folder(as just about all
fake files are in them folders) now you thinking well wont that make
real files not show aswell ?? yes that is true but will it not be
eazyer just to hit any download that WILL work or have to type a 1000
and only 5 work :|

ok in the odd chance that using "-c:\my" and "-c:\documents" made it so
NO files show up at all then we are going to have to do it the harder
way (well more like takes more time) type in your search as normaly
(dont put "-c:\my" and "-c:\documents") now wen your search grows to
about 500-1000 i would hit the stop butten witch is just to the right
of the search filds now click the usernames tab just above where all
the files are displayd (no not up where tranfers and search tab is a
lil lower) now anyone that is sharing the same file (they are fake dont
bother with them) ok wen you find someone that only showd up once or
someone that has a red(slow internet connenction( in other words
"unknown 14.4k 28.8k 33.2k 56k 64k 128k")) if they are red just
download from them (Y) ok if they are a green internet connnection wat
you ahve to do now is right click on there file or name and then click
Whois and wait for the box to load
once loaded theres a few things we are gona look at like
shared files and transfer slots
if they have 2980 2990 or 3000 files shared (very likly they have fake
files)
ok now look at how many transfer slots they have :O and compare it to
where all the files are diaplyd :O if its the same and they have one of
this number of shared files (2980 2990 or 3000) then do a Whois on them
againand compare everything to the last Whois if it changed then (they
are fake) if it stays the same do it again then you can try to download
if they have like 0-2500 files shared wen you dun the first Whois and
the transfer slot match with wat is says where all the files are
displayd then download its very likely to be real

i hope that i have explaind this with not much lingo in it as possible
and that you understand it oh and BTW wen you are downloading right
click on the file go down to AFS(it will expand out to the right) and
then click on never (Y) that will stop it from finding fake files and
trying to download them (croupting the file you download)

ok well i hope you understand that theres heap of info out there about
