George,
You're welcome!
And like I told you before, that area (ok, call it a rectangle if you
like) normally shows a bar with a black background. Frontcode
Technologies used to use it for displaying information regarding
updates of its client. These days it's being used by others to display
just about anything they like.
Don M. in a recent post of his explained the whole thing very nicely
when he said:
"The box displays whatever is at
http://www.winmx.com/v353/mainbar/index.html (on version 3.53)
It will be blank whenever www.winmx.com doesn't resolve to an existing
IP address, or the site is down, or the particular html file doesn't
exist, etc.
If you're using the current hosts patch, www.winmx.com should resolve
to 205.238.40.2 and what you see is actually the following message:
http://205.238.40.2/v353/mainbar/index.html (version 3.53);
http://205.238.40.2/v331/mainbar/index.html (version 3.31), and so on."
