Just to go into conspiracy-theory mode, taking over the network
provides a golden opportunity to acquire control of a system known by
its users as being spyware-free. I wouldn't be surprised if, a few
years down the road after one side does grab and maintain dominance
over the network, we see a new version of the client software riddled
with Trojans and other malware.
