At various times I have loaded a hundred or two networks into WinMX.
There might be about 3-4 screens worth loaded.
I am always looking for better and newer servers and I edit my own wsx
list. I am sometimes forgetful to backup up promptly and subsequently
lose information and have to re do my work.
When I close down WinMX only about 20-30 networks are available when I
next restart WinMX.
Does WinMX have a limit on how many, what type, of servers it stores on
close down? Or is this behaviour some thing else?
As an aside, I am a 56k dial up user of WinMX. WinMX has worked very
well for me over the years. I am a long time user of OpenNap servers,
but I prefer the automation and features of WinMX's peer cache etc.
I have just recently started to research other p2p proggies just in
case WinMX's user base and thus access to "files", diminished enough to
weaken it.
I am relatively loyal to the WinMX community and will make it work for
a while longer especially to stuff it to the RIAA, but .... in the long
long run I think I will be adopting other p2p proggies alongside and
then over WinMX.
