well, there are enough sceptics on this thread to choke a horse.
therefore its worth my while to reveal the setting:

when you have an active download and you are in primary connection,
disconnect from the network. that's right, disconnect. your download
will not stop. it will increase in speed.
also, i'm using the pie patch
