Thanks for the response,
to answer your questions :,,
1) i have installed the pie patches as and when they have been released
My winmx has been working fine until the last two days.
2. I last installed the latest update about a week ago, ( not sure when but
it has been functioning with no problem)
3) cannot use the dll patch, it doesn't work with win98se
4) I have nortons internet security and antivirus running but have even
tried disabling these.
Tonight i rebooted the pc and the host file was still there(in the windows
directory), so i don't know why it disappeared as it did, but it did so
twice and both times i restored the hosts file manually with the same hosts
file i had backed up.
Winmx is logged on right now and there was no problem,
I suppose it is one of those weird ones,
Either that or my pc is haunted !!
hehehee..
Thanks again
Regards
