Is there some trick to burning .cda (or indeed .wav) files to CD via Nero in
a way that the format is recognisable, both in the burn and in the playback?
Even the 'burn audio CD' option fails, saying the mark is not recognised.

Exact Audio Record, perhaps? I wouldn't know what to do with it.
