Kayron, no offense but your answer proves that you haven't been around
this NG that much. If you had, you'd have 1) realized that there are
ways to obtain the WinMX installer, some necessary "patch" files, and
the instruction needed to get it all up and running; and 2) recognized
a textbook Hammerrer response (your full name and all).

The designers of WinMX, who were never that in touch with their users,
succumbed to an RIAA "cease & desist" letter. I don't know what they
did, but it succeeded in the networking coming to a halt, for about a
couple of days. Both the network and its servers went back to work
quickly. The only people who couldn't get it to work probably couldn't
get it to work before - and certainly couldn't be bothered to read the
previous helpful posts on this NG.
