Just got a new car player that supports MP3, and a bookshelf system that
does likewise.
For some reason, I can't get the MP3 files from the computer library onto
CD's that either system can read. They will go onto the CD's in WAV format,
but when I record them in MP3 format, the computer shows the disk with, say
167 files while the Audio system will either not read the CD at all, or show
something like 300 files. If it plays them at all, it will divide the track
into parts and maybe play the one track as five separate songs.
I have a few CD's that have recorded MP3's on them that play just fine.
Most were recorded a year or so ago for a player in my daughter's car.
Nothing in the computer has changed. Trying both Roxio and the Windoze CD
software with equally unreliable results. Tried a variety of CD brands,
TDK, Imation, no name etc.
Tried putting songs into a root directory and also into folders on the CD.
Both players tell me they will read files either way.
Anyone tell me what I'm doing wrong??
Thanks!
DS
