Okay will give it a shot. Normally systems, just like computers, have
several settings. On/Off/standby. On and off are simple enough but stand-by
is a sort of limbo where there is still a bit of power so that when it needs
to pwr on its rdy to go instead of going thru a full power up.. Now thats a
very simplistic description but in a nutshell, sort of like how with modern
computers you have options of turning off (full shutdown) or you can use
standby which basically suspends the system and reduces pwr consuption but
when you wake it up its right where you left off instead of needing to
completely boot up.
