I don't know about cheap ones but I have a relatively non-cheap one on my
boat (a Panasonic) that chokes on VBR mp3s. Real PITA, actually, since
the vast majority of my mp3 collection is (by my choice) VBR.
The OP in this thread wasn't asking about mp3 players, though. He wants
to burn audio discs to use with a plain vanilla audio CD player. He is
using Nero to burn these discs and Nero certainly will burn good audio
discs from high quality VBR files.
