The audio codec is the same - MPEG Layer 3 Audio. WMP will even keep
the ID3 info. Shouldn't be a problem playing in other MP3 players,
however you may need to re-input the ID3 info.

If you have protected i-Tunes, .m4p audio files that you want to
convert to MP3 do the following:

Create a playlist in i-Tunes (using the latest version) and move your
protected .m4p into
it. Rt. click on the playlist and select "Burn Playlist To Disc."
Before you do this change your Burning preferences in i-Tunes -
Edit>Preferences>Advanced>Burning> Disc Format to Audio CD.
Now you can import (rip) the file back into i-Tunes in mp3 format
(change your i-Tune import settings to MP3 Encoder/VBR/Highest
Quality/>=192kbps/Sample Rate 48,000KHz) as an example or whatever
suits your needs.

Or convert the Audio CD file to mp3 using an audio editor of your
choose that supports Audio CD format. A roundabout conversion, but a
hell of a lot easier than Hymn.
