I believe I recall reading there was a limitation if you try to put all
the files into the top level directory of your device.

Create at least one folder in the top level of your device and put the
files into that folder.

I myself create a folder per album or artist, just to keep things
relatively organized. But I do not believe there's much advantage to
doing that , other than for personal sanity...
