Probably the latter. The music industry likes to pollute the p2p
networks with screwed-up files, and even if you're not downloading them
you are at the mercy of the ripping abilities of the person who
originally provided the file to the network. When presented with a
choice when doing a song search, the biggest *may* often be the version
ripped to the highest bitrate ( quality.) But the version shared by the
greatest number of people, despite its file size, is often the most
complete (genuine) version of the song you're looking for.
