Why bother?
I started organising all my music as you say by artist, etc but in the end
it is more trouble than it is worth.
Just put it all into one folder and if you need to find it use iTunes "find
file".
The only bit that needs to keep the same format is the tag. Far to much
music available is incorrectly tagged, or even incorrectly named. (For
example, it took
me weeks to find a correctly labelled file of Beethoven's Piano Concerto No
5. all the stuff on Lime wire is wrong.)
