Do you not see that that is exactly why it is so interesting.

It is one thing to get prosecuted because you have broken the law but
quite another when the charge is trumped up by an organisation that
believes they can buy convictions regardless of what the law actually
says.

And on top of that you have the apparent blackmail of a few individuals
in an attempt to frighten off everyone else.

If it was happening in certain countries with particular governments or
dubious regimes, we would all tut-tut and say "well, what do you
expect", but in the US?

Yes, it is interesting indeed.
