First of all, I don't use iPod, but iRiver IFP 799. The quality of the
player is important, and to my ears iPod gives only average sound quality. I
also use good earphones (Koss PortaPro).
I prefer 160 kbs and over (but it depends on the kind of music I listen to:
pop, classical etc.). 128 may also be acceptable on some tracks. Difficult
to hear any big difference between 320 and 160.
