I'm using an older version of WinAmp (2.9x), so I'm not sure if newer
versions behave differently.

When you state that WinAmp plays songs out of sequence from an album,
how are you telling WinAmp to play the album? By dragging a folder, or
a folder's contents from Explorer to WinAmp? Or through the library
manager?

One must be careful when dragging folders or folder contents; Windows
doesn't always post the dropped file list to an application in the
manner you would expect, and WinAmp adds songs to it's internal play
list in the order of the files it receives. If this is the cause of
your problems, nothing much can be done other than your sorting the
list after the drag operation.

If it's an issue with the library manager, make sure when browsing an
album in your library that you have the track field highlighted in the
track pane; then double clicking on an album name should add it to
your play list in track order.
