as convenient as this seems, DVDs are not meant for archiving. the
recording
process on a dvd is based on error happening by the ton and being
corrected by all the extra bits. when there are too many errors, you
have a noise. and this will vary depending on the compatibility
between the recorder used and the playback device.

i wouldn't want to trust my mp3 collection to such a fragile media.
i use only hard drives for storage. they are so cheap. everything i
have
is on two drives in two separate computers. think of the many
many hours you've spent gathering thsese mp3s. i'd not want to
lose them
