Oh yes, you can if you try really hard.

No it isn't - iTMS is playing to people who know what they want. If I
want, I can go and get a song from iTunes, pay my 79p and that is it
done. As previously mentioned, the 25c per song is if you download 40
tracks a month. I don't want 40 tracks a month, some months I want 100
tracks, some months I want 0 tracks.
On this system, I can't do either effectively or economically.

If it was a pay per track system, then it would be worth looking into -
a subscription service is not how I buy music.
