I dare say that your average Joe won't be listening on a system where
the difference between AAC and MP3 is immediately apparent. I have many
tracks that have been ripped from vinyl, cassette and, hey, even CD.
Frankly, when listening in my car (which is where I most use my iPod) I
cannot tell which tracks are in which format. When listening at home, I
have a darned good hi-fi on which the issue is unimportant.
