Coincidence.

Try this

Start
Run...
regsvr32 /u shmedia.dll
OK

It's best if you cut n paste the command into the Run box, if you type
it, make sure you put the spaces after 32 and u. You should get a small
box saying the shmedia has been unregistered.

If explorer still crashes, try installing dBPowerAmp Music Converter
which will install it's own shell extension.

You can re-register shmedia by using
regsvr32 shmedia.dll
in the Run box.
