I make long MP3 recordings of Internet radio stations, then
play them back in the car, using a Creative Nomad Jukebox 3.
I sometimes have to pause the playback, and unfortunately the
Creative NJB3 turns itself off after a few minutes on pause; this
requires me to turn it back on and restart the MP3 from the
beginning. What a drag. There is no way to override this
feature on the NJB3.

Can you recommend an MP3 player that does both of these
things?:

(A) accepts downloads of MP3 files via USB or Firewire (or,
alternatively, records external audio directly, in MP3 format), and

(B) allows a user to pause during playback without
automatically turning off the player after a few minutes on
pause?
