I've got a Sony mp3 walkman e407.

The trouble is it only supports MPEG1 Audio Layer3 not MPEG2 Audio
Layer3 mp3's.

For some of my music its not a problem as I use Musicmatch Jukebox to
save my Cd's to mp3 which luckily is MPEG1 format, I can then copy
these across to the player using the Sony Mp3file manager (drag and
drop).

However I also have a load of MPEG2 mp3s that the Sony player does not
support.
At the moment I have the use Sony SonicStage software (hopeless!!) and
convert these files to Sony Atrac format to be able to play them on the
walkman.

What I need is some software that will convert MPEG2 to MPEG1, then I
can ditch SonicStage completly. I have searched the web and all the
software I can find seems to be aimed at video conversion.

Any help anybody??
