THE BORED OF THE RINGS TRILOGY
Bored Of The Rings - The Movie a feature length ultra-low budget digital
movie project.
It is an satirical parody of the Lord of the Rings story, as expressed in
both book and film.
It was inspired in concept by the excellent Bored of the Rings book by
Harvard Lampoon,
but it is far grander in its vision.
BOR 1 (70 mins) The Feeling Up Of The Ring
- is a Breath-takingly shot movie, complimented by an inspired soundtrack.
This is a fantastic parody, with wonderful acting - "Goblin Girls",
"Ganjalf the Green", "Spamwise Gadgie" the gags are endless - mucho
hilario!
BOR 2 (35mins) The Two Tossers
- "Edweird king Of the Potatoes" , "Sheep-Shaggers" "Horny Orcies"
not to mention "Golem the Gimp", " Legless The Fairy " and all manner of
spaced out weirdness.
A Gob-Stopping, Thigh-Slapping, Nose-Dripping Rollercoaster of a Yarn
BOR 3 (35mins) The Return Of The Jedi?
- The third and final part of the twisted trilogy, the final betrayals are
unmasked
as our sordid anti heroes celebrate the fact that its not them who's in for
it,
shockingly funny in a dark and twisted vein it nevertheless succeeds in a
evoking
deeper and more sympathetic feeling for our two hapless dupes
SOME RECENT REVIEWS
Actor Ron Sirling says: "I have been involved in many a low/no-budget film
productions,
and having now seen all three episodes of Bored of the Rings, I cannot fail
but to
be impressed by all of them. From every aspect, the very funny screenplay,
the level of acting, the superb editing and not to mention wall-to-wall
ADR!
All done on a home computer. How can anybody NOT be even slightly
impressed?"
Critic William Smith Commented in a recent review - "Bored of the Rings is
an inspired
collection of very talented individuals brought together to increase their
sum worth
and to create a film trilogy that stands alone as a comment on the world as
it is,
has been and will probably always will be, "only the young are fooled by
honour and valour".
I laughed at the jokes, loved the acting and wept at the reality.
Omar Akhtar as King Edweird Deserves a special mention and the cucumber
well....!
Actually I will just have to watch it again as I am remembering more things
that were
brilliant as I type!"
Film Maker Uisdean Murray wrote in a recent review - "A great film for
those who loved
or hated The Lord of the Rings. This series is definitely best seen for
those who have
experienced Tolkiens world in some form as a lot of the hilarity comes from
imagining
the original characters acting the way they do in BOR.
For a low budget production this was very ambitious and with very
impressive results.
The cast, many inexperienced, all gave strong performances. I thought Paul
Pirie as
Ganjalf was fantastic, he seemed like a gentle old man but nobody caught on
that he
couldn't really care less about his companions. One of my favourite scenes
in which
I laughed out loud was when he lets everyone go before him through the
caves and then
he just walks away in the opposite direction after yelling into the cave,
"You shall not pass, Argh!"
Kit Clark as Spamwise Gadgee was hilarious, excellent accent and
caricature, he actually
brought some heart to the film. I could go on about the other characters
but it's best
you find out for yourselves.
Technically the film looked great, excellent cinematography and some truly
stunning
locations - captured perhaps better then any other film I've seen made in
this country.
Make-up and costumes were superb.
Right, anyone up for a drink at the Prancing Punnani? - Uisdean."
