Why not buy a CD repair kit?

Just in the middle of trying to back up my wifes' remastered Sherlock
Holmes set (32 from Play) only to discover she's got her favourite one
scratched to fook and back. A good ol' rub with a soft cloth managed to
get it to read partially (at well under 10k/sec !), but i`m really not
hopeful...
ISTR there was a place that would skim a thin layer off a scratched disc
for a small fee - can anyone remember who it was ? (it`ll be cheaper
than buying a whole new set...)
Failing that, has anyone got this, who would be willing to do a Hound of
the Baskervilles for me ?

TIA :-/
