You miss my point, media player may cope with a bad disk because it buffers
better. If you said NO software will play it properly as you have then that
is one thing . If you had a perfect playback with media player then it could
be the software. either way it is not a region thing it is a disk specific
thing.

you will find some of your disks are not exclusive to region 2, mine are
not.even though they were bought as UK r2. but you would not even realise if
you did not use a computer to read the region info.
