As a police officer myself I find this kind of response disgusting.
What happens if while they're responding to your "helpful phone calls"
one of your family is being mugged or attacked? How do you even know
this wasn't a traffic warden or a community support officer who
ticketed the car? Do you know the difference?
I get this kind of abuse from people every waking minute I'm on duty.
We do not "sit about in cars drinking tea" and as for the "gays who
cycle on mountain bikes" apparently that's what people in villages want
- "bobby's on the beat" who are approachable and can respond to their
needs.
The press takes great delight in ripping it out of the only line of
defence the public has against the scum who want to amke your lives a
misery. Take a look at the ratio of bad news stories compared to the
good news stories about the police. In fact, ask anyone from outside
the UK about our police force. They'd give their right arm to have us.
But feel free to carry on whining. We'll carry on supporting you anyway.
