When is the "iPod revolution" gonna happen for movies like it did with
music?
I mean when is the movie industry gonna finally accept the inevitable and
allow dvds, etc. to be easily ripped to an appropriate format to allow
genuine owners have a "movie server" for their own use?
I realise there are such servers (or regular hard-disks even) that can do
this. And also that it _is_ possible to do all this now.
But (to cut to the chase) is there a way that I can rip my 500(ish) dvds to
an easily-useable format for later viewing? It's something I never looked
into before, but now feel the time is right to begin trying.
A friend of mine recommended using Anydvd, Alcohol 120%, Dvdshrink and I
think there were one or two other programs to do different things. Even then
it means mounting a virtual drive to watch a rip or view it in 2 (or more)
seperate vob files. (I just want the movie itself and maybe subtitles on
certain movies).
....I mean is that ridiculous or what!? Real "pirates" would hardly be put
off with any such measures afterall.
So, somebody educate me please. ?
-Kevin.
