I don't get why we're happy to pay suych high taxation. They spend far less
on the roads than they make from the motorist so up the basic rate of income
tax - it's the fairest way. They tax you when you earn it, they tax you
again when you buy the car, then when you get road tax, then when you insure
it and then when you get it repaired or fill it up. I reckon I'm lucky to
actually see 20p in every pound that I earn - 40% directly then all the
'hidden' taxes - it makes me sick. Up the income tax rate to whatever it
takes so that at least you know what you've got left.

BTW, taxing for 'green' reasons is a lie - motoring hasn't declined at all
since fuel duty has been going up and up over the last 20 years. We'll all
keep paying because we haven;t got a choice. Our public transport can't
cope with us and it's very expensive. Give me a decent alternative and I'll
use it.
