Actually, the new Pioneers are the first to do double layer recording.
However, they use the new, and as yet largely untried, double-layer
DVD-R discs, not the more established dual-layer DVD+R discs. I think
only Verbatim make such discs at the moment, and they're pretty damn
hard to come by, and very expensive when you do.
