Surely that DTS soundtrack will be sourced from the DD 2.0 audio on the
original DVD release, and therefore wouldn't be a 'true' DTS track?

Upmixing 2.0 surround to a 5.1 track through Dolby Pro-LogicII is very
easy on a PC.
