Unlikely the Australians use PAL whereas the French use Secam, however many
European TV's (especially those in France) have the ability to understand
foreign signals (so a French TV may well understand PAL). I'm living in the
US and my Philips TV understands PAL & SECAM even though it only mentions
NTSC in the manual
