As game graphics get closer and closer to 'real life', improvements in game
controllers will become more and more important. In future it will be taken
for granted that graphics just look like what you would see in the real
World so we must be able to control these games better. Unfortunately many
people will never try the Nintendo controller because the stark reality is
that their console will not sell many units at all when up against the
Playstation 3 and Xbox 360. There really isn't a market for a third console.
We saw this with the Gamecube. Nintendo also don't help themselves when they
constantly release and re-release kiddie games with "Fox McCloud" and
"Mario" when much of the market for the next gen consoles will be people in
their 20s and 30s.
