The Insignia PD720, which is apparently the same as the Philips PET700, does
not specify wma compatibility, but apparently it will play them anyway. At
least it will according to the customers that have submitted reviews.

My guess--and it's only a guess--is that the IC used in the player comes
with wma capability, but the manufacturer of the player can't advertise that
fact without paying the usual licensing fee.
