Guess the answer there is in the quality of what extras Criterion
assembles.
Stillman isn't a first-time director -- this is his first movie, but he
went on to make Barcelona and Last Days of Disco as well. And if we get
an audio commentary from him, we're in for something really good,
judging by a preview screening I once went to of 'Disco' which was
followed by a Q & A with Stillman.
Also, every home-video release (on video-tape) of Metropolitan to date
has been virtually unwatcheable, with poor quality image and
super-saturated colours, so the Criterion attention to quality will be
doubly welcome.
