The death of book never bothered me at all, i know the actor wasn't up for a
big part in the movie and killing him was a good choice....what I didn't get
was the death of Wash. It served for some sadness and about 30 seconds of
shock and was really well done with the dinosaurs from the series on the
grave stone and things but I dont understand why, if Joss invisions any
future in movies or tv for Serenity, he would get rid of Wash. He was the
comedy relief...his character got the most laugh out loud moments in the
movie and he was one of my favourite characters.
In any other circumstances i would assume the actor wanted to go out with a
bang and move on to other things or had pissed someone off and got killed
off. But From watching the tv show and listening to commentaries as well as
reading interviews and thing about the show and film i know for a fact than
Alan Tudyk loved every single minute of making Firefly and Serentiy, he's
personal friends with Joss and Nathan, if not others, and isn't exactly in
huge demand for other work. I can't fathom any earthy reason why they did
it.
