This is a DVD group.

There is one of the biggest DVD releases of the year this week and it
has 'Episode III' as a major part of its title.

And even if you didn't know it was released this week (which is quite
incredible in itself given that it's *everywhere* at the moment - shops,
offices, schools, TV, bus shelters...) there's been one huge movie this
year with 'Episode III' in the title.

And people refer to Star Wars Episode III: The Revenge of the Sith as
Episode III in normal conversation. It's just what people call the film.
I call it that. The bloke typing at the computer behind me right now
(his name's Michael) calls it that. My girlfriend calls it that and
she's not even seen it.

I don't think it's unreasonable to expect people to know what the OP was
referring to here, especially given that this is a DVD group. It's not
some arcane Star Wars knowledge that's needed to understand the first
post, it's just very general movie/DVD knowledge.

It's like Kylie isn't the only person called Kylie in the world, but you
don't expect to have to add the word 'Minogue' at the end if you mention
her in a music group. Or a celebrity group. Or, you know, just in normal
conversation. She's the default Kylie, like Episode III is the default,
er, Episode III. (And in the absence of any other factors - such as the
conversation taking place in a newsgroup dedicated to specific TV show -
also probably the default Episode 3.)

And nobody refers to Die Hard 3 as Episode III, mainly because that's
not what it's called.
