It was called "Dreaming on Desolution Island", and was part of a Channel 4
series "To the Ends of the Earth".

Helpfully, searching "Matthew Parris" on Channel4.com brings up no hits at
all, but doing a Google site search finds it... I love this technology

I wouldn't hold out much hope for a DVD issue, but with E4 and More 4, etc
etc, I suppose there might be a chance of a repeat sometime.
