Anyone still play Half Life here ?

I haven't been able to connect for days since the last Steam update /
reboot - it prompts for a username and password, then says it can`t
lot in. Entering the wrong user info returns an error, so its
definitely connecting to their server.

Valve are fairly effectively ignoring the multitude of posts on the
forums on their site, and are effectively ignoring support tickets.

I reported this on 8th Nov, others have been reporting problems going
back to 6th Nov and earlier.

I have a second PC which was a clean install as of two weeks ago, and
after running a couple of speed comparison tests its been unused
since. After hitting the problem on my main machine I tried the other
box - once Steam updates itself it throws up the same network error
message.

I`ve also clean-installed, DMZ`d the router, enabled port forwarding
(which I haven`t needed in the 3 years since I bought the router), and
tried every combination of the above.

I`m convinced its Steam at fault.
