As per the Love Dog, make sure the screen is HD Ready with preferably an
HDMI input that supports HDCP. In regard to the player/recorder go for one
with a hard drive as well - record stuff to the hard drive and then edit it
if you want to archive to a writable DVD or just delete once viewed.

Or, why not be brave and get a Media Centre PC - and then come on here and
tell us all about it <LOL>
